Volunteer & Community Engagement
CLJSS organizes volunteer opportunities each semester so members can support the community while building experience, leadership, and connections outside the classroom. Volunteer events are open to all members and are designed to be accessible, group-based, and consistent throughout the year.
What you get
Organized group volunteer events each semester (community events and campus/community partners)
A reliable way to earn service hours and build experience for resumes and applications
Opportunities to meet members outside of GBMs and strengthen community within CLJSS
Clear sign-ups, reminders, and logistics shared in one place through the volunteer group
Why it matters
Community engagement is a core part of CLJ work. Volunteering helps members stay grounded in the communities impacted by the justice system while developing professional skills—communication, teamwork, accountability, and leadership—that translate directly to internships and future careers.
How it works
Join the CLJSS Volunteer GroupMe for announcements and sign-ups
RSVP when volunteer opportunities are posted (spots may be limited)
Show up as a group and support the event/community partner
Service hours and follow-up details will be shared after each event when applicable
